I do have the impression that the citizenry is becoming more and more feral (as a generalization), so it makes intuitive sense to me that it would be that way. I suspect there is a higher percentage of what I would consider un-feral, "nice," decent people among the youth of some religious groups, such as serious Christian groups, who raise their children less immersed in TV and popular culture, and "socialized" by membership in a "church family" that takes moral guidelines seriously (even if I think some of the guidelines are wrongheaded or even terrible moral mistakes.)
