Actually he referred the January 2000 call as a sell signal in the same August 2000 issue from which I quoted.

Personally, I don't see any difference between "unfavorable" and "bearish." His position during early 2000 amounted to at least moderate bearishness, in spite of his protestations to the contrary, and the only reason I can think of for his saying otherwise was to give himself deniability if he was wrong.

Then Bob is really a retroactive bear, like Cramer and many others who said to sell something (anything!) at anytime in 2000. <g>

I wonder how many retroactive bottom callers will pop up a year or so after the market puts in a bottom (if it ever will at this rate - not grinning so much).
