<<LOL...Ok so you were off by how much....33% or so......Hmm....thats pretty far off....but you dont think so...huh? >>
No, I don't think that's too far off when talking about time.

Actually, I disagree.

Example I bought BRCM around 14.5 in late july, sold in august in the 20s. Is this a "win" for the bears because brcm is down 30% TODAY from where I bought- no, because I sold-at a much greater % gain than a short has holding from then to now. Of course there were no bears on the thread when I sold, they are all hi-fiving each other now, though.

Same with siebel. I bought a bunch in the 7s and 8s, it then goes to 9.75 or so. Now its 5.5- the bears of course are congratulating themselves on calling siebel to go to 3. News flash, 3 is FURTHER AWAY from 5.5 than my buy of sebl, and that assumes I didn't sell when I had the gain.

Why are you congratulating yourselves?

You ask any bull- 1) is the market (naz) in a downtrend, they will say YES. The question is, can you make more money shorting stocks like brcm when they are 14.5 or is it prudent to go long and wait for a bounce, or do an LTBH strategy for those companies you believe in.
