Ray,

re:"Unless you provide URLs your credibility is zero. Such a statement is preposterous on the face of it. It's illogical and you have offered no proof."

And you offered no proof to the Iraqi claims that Kuwait stole oil from them. You merely parrot the claims of Iraq. Did Kuwait actually slant drill, and if so without Iraqi permission? I don't know, but nonviolence.org doesn't necessarily seem to think so.

nonviolence.org

"Most important, the al-Sabah family was also drilling in the Rumailah oil field. The Rumailah oil field is 95 percent in Iraq, but the al-Sabah family brought in the most sophisticated American oil-drilling technology to "slant drill" in its 5 percent of Rumailah while the Iraqis were unable to drill during the war (some of my Arabist friends were fairly sure there was an
agreement about this: oil for financial backing)"

- note the link also states that Kuwait gave (the Iraqi version) or loaned (the Kuwait version) Iraq $17Billion Dollars during the Iran/Iraq war. At any rate, loan or not, Kuwait "forgave" the $17B before Iraq invaded Kuwait and promised to give $10B more.

Ray, next time, I'll try to get a better source of information than NONVIOLENCE.ORG
