I need to correct an earlier statement I made. This is not a strike. It's a lockout.

From the most recent Associated Press story:

"The Pacific Maritime Association, which represents shipping companies and terminal operators, locked out the 10,500-member longshoremen's union, claiming the dockworkers had engaged in a slowdown. The main issue is whether jobs created by new technology will be unionized."

Where's Bush in this dispute? Where's Mrs. Mitch McConnell, the secretary of labor?

There is ample information regarding the dock workers strike. IMO the dock workers are holding our nation hostage. It is a tribute that Bush is holding back, but my guess would be that he will intervene if talks stall.

Mr rich4eagle is certainly NOT a gentleman is he? Very much like other liberal men that I know.

Wouldn't he just sh** bricks if he knew that I was a card carrying Teamster for over 14 years?
