It a matter of what you believe a healthy economy. If you think the doubling of the Nasdaq index in less than 8 months in 1999 and PE's in excess of 300 and triple digit stocks that had no earnings was healthy, it would be you that is clearly in denial. Those are the excesses that needed to be cleansed. A healthy market would have the major indexes growing from 2-15% / year ( and even 15% I consider high). As usual liberals believe there is such a thing as a free lunch. Tough love is hard pill to swallow.
