Wouldn't you agree with me that America is stronger if 50 people each make $40,000 a year as opposed to two people earning $760,000 a year and the other 48 earning 10 grand annually?

The laws of supply and demand should prevail not bureaucrats schooled in Marxism. Problem is that everyone is not equal as far as skills and contribution. Not to say that everything is always fair but life in general isn't. These artificial barriers serve to weaken the entire system over time rather than strengthening it.

Those who aspire to mediocrity and adhere to the philosophy of "doing as little as possible to get by", generally favor this arrangement. Conversely, it tends to drive out those with an entrepreneurial depriving markets of capital both of a monetary and intellectual nature.
