The three San Diego-based carriers, Constellation, Stennis and USS Nimitz, are in various stages of maintenance or preparation for deployment. When the Vinson pulled in for two days, all four carriers were docked at once.


I grew up in San Diego. I would have loved to see that.

reminds me of 1971 : the mere presence of what we were told was the "US 7th Fleet" in the Indian Ocean area, was a good enough incentive for the Indo-Pak war to cool down, and eventually end.
