It would be more heartening if more of them were actually doing it. I wish someone like Kerry would do it. That is, someone with Presidential aspirations who would actually risk those aspirations. This is the time for it. But it is very, very difficult. That is why Byrd is perfect for this thankless task--he could be elected from the grave in West Virginia. The media doesn't seem to be paying much attention to him though, as he uses reason too much for their prime purpose: sell papers. The NYT did have a story on him last week, probably the Post did as well but I didn't see anything, I don't read the latter.

Read the next one I posted too. It is a keeper.
