people have just written it off ? i dunno about that...many people have mutual funds and don't even particularly know what is in them, they are aware enough that they are down enough that they have taken a real mature stand, they do not open their brokerage statements...but as i said they are aware enough that they are down and i figure as the bear grinds down, more than a few will here and there phone the broker and shout SELL EVERYTHING, and commit themselves to working a few more years... many retired high school teachers are sniffing around for supply work, when i ask why they are doing it they mutter, well you know the market is down...
