Russ: Thanks for this thread. I have been reading and enjoying for a few weeks w/o comment. ISIS is one I follow as I am fascinated by the antisense technology. I actually feel that AVII has the better technology even though ISIS has the better pharma deal right now. The AVII chart has been on a fairly steep uptrend for the past 45 days or so. I am hoping they may be close to either a milestone payment from MDT or a new partner deal. I am keen on the company, but keep in mind that I own the quite a bit and I can become delusional about any/all of my investments (especially biotech). I was lucky enough to have bought a hefty position around 2.75.
I am now watching MEDX. I'm glad I did not buy it two years ago when a broker/neighbor of mine touted it to me @$60.
Another suggestion might be DCGN - trading at cash and 1/2 of book with some good partnerships both with the Icelandic government and several pharmas (Roche, AFFX, Merck and others). I do not own any and it's been a good thing, but I may soon.
One question - how do you determine the accuracy of their cash holdings? How much can you believe?
Another two that look cheap are TQNT and MIMS. You can buy both far cheaper than I did.
Once again, thanks for the thread and ideas. It's now book marked.
Baton

Cool thread.

If you're interested in beaten up biotech, you might want to peruse the 'less than cash' thread -

- ignore my comments, but Rick Harmon and Miljenko Zuanic are knowledgeable. Bottom line, CATG and ABGX are probably better bets, however cheap MEDX might look.

Antisense a lottery, and may get overtaken by new tech. developments, but ISIS certainly has pharma validation.
