Iraq expected to back down on inspections

smh.com.au

looks like after the Senate approves the resolution this week, and the UN prepares to vote some weeks later. inspections move in November or December, and probably break down late winter by which time the US may find it less favorable to move militarily.

guess the other event is the german banks and whether the central banks move in with more high-powered cash after some sharp breaks in the markets as a result. fed won't cut unless it's a 50.
