I know it's my door

One set of books I enjoyed over the decades is Carlos Castaneda's story. It does not matter whether one believes the story or not. It's a good story if nothing else. Some folks dismiss it as hippie stuff etc. Some of the books are obviously deranged as poor old Carlos tries to use normal science to understand things. Two of the series of books are worth a read if you have not come across them before. "Journey to Ixtlan" and his final book "The active side of Infinity".

Castaneda's story is about a guy who sets out to study some Indians in anthropological field work. He ends up as a sorcerers apprentice. It takes up the rest of his life, and according to records, Castaneda has now passed on.

One of the main points Castaneda's teacher makes....over and over again. That humans typically act as if they will last forever. He points out that we all have that "door" and should be continually aware of it.

I hope we both can continue our discussion of markets, religion, science, books, etc for a long time to come -g-
