Amen, Oral.

That's just as pathetic and disgusting as the mother's who get on and wail, "My baby wouldn't ever do anything like that!"

Just once I'd like to hear a parent say, "Ayup, that sounds like Junior..."

the sad thing is when you consider the remarks of this "father" (using that term loosely) these kids really are victims...though it doesn't excuse their behavior....and i think the full force of the law should be brought down upon them... but it also underscores to me the culpability of parents of juvenile offenders.....where was the mother or the father of the 10 year old out running the streets at 11:00pm??

I found this quote by the attorney as mind boggling as what the father of the 10 year old suspect said,

"Mastantuono said the boy was reacting to a situation as any normal 10-year-old would."

WTF????????

As the mother of a 10 year old son, I can confidently say, this is not how my child would react. I do also recognize that my 10 year old is in a very different environment than that child. Still, I find the use of the words "normal 10-year-old" very upsetting. Do we have no higher expectations from our children?? A "father" and an "Attorney" can make such a comment, yet these are probably the same people who pass judgement on the terrorist involved in the al-qaida, and the israeli/palestinian conflict. My point being that it we are going to treat violence in our own backyards, with such casual concern over human life, how as a nation can we dare to comment/judge the choices other countries making in the ways they deal with their enemies......
