I've tried to find the exact message and it's source. No luck yet. It was on SI, probably The Palestinian Hoax.

I have found these sources which are interesting.

Talking Points Other Talking Points

Palestinians do NOT send out their children to demonstrate for propaganda purposes.

In fact, statistics show that a majority of those killed have been adults. According to the Union of Palestinian Medical Relief Committees, 13.8% of those killed were children under 15 years. Considering that children make up half of the Palestinian population and that school students constitute 25% of the population, it is unavoidable that children are among the victims as long as the Israeli army continues to shoot indiscriminately at the civilian population.
The Israeli army has deployed its forces next to Palestinian population centers, thereby putting children at large and other passer-bys at risk. For example, within a 100 m radius of the City Inn in Ramallah (the Ayoush Junction) where Israel has positioned its soldiers to supposedly disperse Palestinian demonstrators, six elementary schools are located. These schools accommodate more than 1400 students whose ages range from 3 to 18 years. In one of many cases, 13-year-old Muayyad Usma Jawarish was shot and killed by Israeli sniper fire in Bethlehem. He was on his way home from school and was not within a clash area. Similarly, a settler shot 18-month-old Sara Abdul Azeem in the head. She was returning home with her father and was not near a clash site. A six-month-old infant was also killed.

This does not refute your claim of a "majority" but does put a different slant on the problem.

and:
1050 (65%) were killed in the West Bank (including 40 in occupied East Jerusalem).
580 (35%) were killed in the Gaza strip.
356 (21.8%) were children under age 18, at least 69 (19.7% of the children killed) were killed in circumstances of complete quiet, 130 (37%) were killed in protests or clashes.
164 (10.2%) were killed in assassination operations, including at least 61 (37% of the total number of killed in assassinations) bystanders, of whom 25 (15.2%) were children.
222 (13.7%) were on-duty members of PNA security services.
15 were on-duty medical workers, including doctors and paramedics.
33 were killed by Israeli settlers residing in the OPT in violation of international humanitarian law.
4970 Palestinians have been injured since the outbreak of the intifada in the Gaza strip.

This seems to put the number of Palestinian children killed in circumstances where they are not being used as shield, martyrs or whatever at at least 69.

and:

guardian.co.uk for a graph of casualties

No differentiation with respect to age, only month by month Israeli and Palestinian statistics in graph form.
Tried to get onto the Israeli list of casualties. It's a list without any statistics.
Perhaps you have another source.
