At least the blood isn't on our own hands.

It is my belief that if you see someone being harmed, you have a moral obligation to try to help that person.

It's a lot easier if you can do it without much risk to yourself, just dial 911, or whatever.

My husband and I broke into an apartment once to save a man who had fallen asleep on his bed with a lighted cigarette. His bed was on fire and he was still asleep, probably drunk.

My dad pulled a man out of a burning car.

People do stuff like that all the time. You can't just watch or walk away.

I thought the purpose of the UN was to allow us to help each other so things like Cambodia, Rwanda, Sudan, don't happen while everybody just stands by, doing nothing, but it doesn't seem to see itself that way.
