do you mean the hit-rate ... or do you mean the extent of the move if it hits?

Wouldn't be surprised if both might be influenced by market environment.

I still make money on it even if it fails

I also like trades where Plan A and Plan B are profitable. Only if I get to Plan C do I have to worry about "risk management".

IG, notice also that cup and handles do not work in a bear. I have noticed that formations tend to form and break with the greatest success when they are formed within the general trend in which they tend to resolve.

Therefore, currently any inverse H&S patterns are suspect, as are cup and handle formations, IMO.
