Anybody offering a PTT product with a three second delay would be foolish, in my opinion. Waiting three seconds to speak each time a conversation changed would become extremely frustrating.

I'm just speculating....but when the carriers have talked about latency, they have usually used the word "initialization". I always took that to mean that the first time you tried to contact the other people in your group it would take a couple of seconds. After that, the delay would be nominal.

Any idea how a full duplex works? Do both parties need to hold "the button" at the same time for full duplex?

I would assume that you could set it up so that you hit the button once to start the conversation (wait 5 seconds) and then hit the button at the end of the conversation.

Hmmm....now that I think about it, is latency as important if you have full duplex? You dont have to go back and forth hitting the button....the latency should only effect the initial call set-up.

Thoughts?
