Royalty is very good for tourism in the UK, and I suspect the fact that we are different to the US helps somewhat with tourism into Canada. In fact having a Queen or king from another country differentiates us from any other country in the G8. You might not like Charles, but I find him rather refreshing with his ideas decrying the Establishment. Mind you I could not help thinking as the Queen walked down that red carpet in Vancouver last night, that when the Queen does die, there was the new Canadian King, Wayne Gretzky, walking by her side.
