A play that characterized the game for me was in the second half. Things weren't looking good for the Rams, but maybe they still had a shot. On a pass to a receiver in the end zone, the camera work was superb. The 'Niner DB wasn't running to get to the Ram receiver. Having matched the receiver step-for-step, he was already there. If fact he was bouncing high into the air from first one foot, then the other. Close, but not too close. It was one of those ballet like moments that can occur in football. And the eyes. Glued to the receiver's face. Having seen what he was looking for in an incredible mid-air pirouette, he swiveled to face the ball. And sure enough there's the ball about ten feet away and headed straight for him. He goes for the ball - effectively screening the receiver. He doesn't make the catch, but he had a chance. The receiver never did. Then the camera shot of his face after he had returned to his spot in the zone. Football defense can be thought of as a turf war. His face sent a message to the Ram offensive coordinator. "You bring that ball into my area, your gonna lose. If your lucky, you lose a down. If not, you lose the ball. This is my area." That's the attitude I was referring to in my earlier post. lurqer
