Is there a reasonable way to track this intraday, because it sure looks like the put call isn't getting particularly distorted, and therefore qqq 22 should hold.

Isn't that backwards? You would need a decrease in puts and an increase in calls at qqq 22 to lower max pain since the theory is that the big money would want the calls to expire worthless if there are more calls open than puts.
