That is not how some people see things. It sounds like a great argument. "Look at us Americans. We spend all this money on third world countries, and they just want more, what a load of whiners"

The problem is more fundamental then that. Third world farmers cannot make a living because USA and European farm subsidies, plus economy of scale, mean they can undercut price for local produce. Thus the USA and Europeans have a stranglehold on the third worlds countries economy. Get the IMF to give them a large loan so politicians can squander the money on personal kickbacks, and import USA, European, Russian arms for a strong military to suppress the population with and "voila"....Democratic Brazil votes socialist with advanced electronic voting system. They also start to mine Uranium to help pay off foreign debt.

Intelligent, concerned thinking now required to fix the problem. Try and wash your hands of it, fiddling with inferior chad votes, industrial complex lobbies in the huddle, brain not connected "it's not my problem they are starving" will only lead to severe problems imho.
