We finally agree on something. Its a mind numbing experience. And we wait for capitulation and we "idiots" would have done far better selling on any day before today. mike

Capitulation? My losses are so severe that I can't capitulate. I guess a lot of people are in the same boat.

It's just mind boggling thinking that we can only deduct $3000. per year in capital losses. Too bad we couldn't pay our capital gains (remember them) at the rate of $3000 max per year.

This is worse than 72 - 74. That bear was mostly an adjustment from sky high PE ratios down to single digits, but companies were still making money.

Now we hear estimates about how many quarters of cash companies have left in the till. High profile companies like Lucent and Corning are in deep financial trouble.
