Solon I never said murdering someone was justified. I said if the only standard being applied is self interest then it might be justified. Self interest is not the only standard I would apply. When I was asked the question about if I would kill some anonomous person for tons of money if I knew it would never be traced back to me, I said no. But not because I thought that the act would definitly not be in my self interest. I suppose it might not be in my self interest because of the guilt I would probably feel but even if I knew that I would feel no guilt or other negative effects or emotions as a result of the murder I still would not do it.

I realize that what Rand meant by self interest is probably not exactly the same thing that I would mean by self interest.
