pchristi12534, RE: Why don't buyers just wait to buy on downticks? They don't have to accommodate short sellers. If they want to accumulate stock, why not buy only on downticks?

There is a school of thought (which, BTW, does not include me) that considers it unwise to buy a stock with negative momentum.

Buying on an uptick is buying into positive momentum.

Another possibility: perhaps there is no one that is willing to sell to you on a downtick. Some people might not be patient enough to wait for that downtick seller to emerge. And if that seller never emerges, you may have forfeited your chance to own the stock just because of an aversion to buying on an uptick.

But you hint at what I have believed for some time now. money flow numbers are useless.
