I guess my overall observation is that we are
just taxed too damn much, especially when you consider
the whole tax burden.

And you're absolutely correct about waste.

I was recently involved in litigation with a certain
County. I deposed some pretty high
level and well paid government people.

Let's just say I was underwhelmed
with their abilities. Lightweights, every last
one of them, with just enough politician
in them to make them dangerous.

Not to mention the antics of the real politicians,
Board of Supervisors who won't resolve cases before
trial and prefer to let the jury
decide so that they can blame "bonehead" judges
and juries for adverse results, rather than their
lack of foresight in failing to settle.

And that's a small example on just on a local level.

I daresay every federal, state and local agency
is the same.

Of course, these folks are the ones to whom
the funds are allocated.

Don't get me started on pork....<g>
