ray. You said...." I have a friend who was on the streets protesting Bush's evil scheme in Cincinnati tonight.".....

You have a friend? You better hope that Prez. Bush does succeed so that in the future fanatics like yourself will still enjoy free speech.

And while we are on such friendly terms I wonder if you could clear up something for me...Is the democatic party just another sleeper cell and if so who is the head sleeper?

Great story, Ray.

Character development is a little weak; "evyl scheme" is a trite, corny, hackneyed cliche; there doesn't seem to be any real point; and the casual reader is left wishing someone/anyone would stimulate the author with an electric cattle prod just to add a little dramatic interest (maybe, if you're contemplating a sequel, your disgusted friend could do the honors? Just an idea...).

But beyond that, I think you've managed to transcend the insignificance of your material, the inconsequential nature of your protagonist, and the unimaginative ineptness of your treatment, to produce a vignette that, whatever else it may be lacking, is at least admirably brief.

And that brevity becomes you. You should cultivate it. Perhaps you could become the first minimalist of paranoid lunatic fringe political commentary?

You have a friend living on the streets in Cincinnati? By any chance, is that friend you? Are you living on the streets in Cincinnati? I thought you were living on the streets of Portland, Oregon? Well, try the homeless shelters, or better yet, move to Iraq, I'm sure the homicidal dictator can use your services as a useful idiot over there... he may even pay you for it... have a nice trip...
