Sorry don't have time to respond quite as long. I don't doubt that fuel cells are the way to go and I'm all for them, but this statement is not true:

Efficiencies on current engines are about 20%, efficiencies on fuel cells range from 24 - 32%. It depends on the source of hydrogen. And even at that we will continue to use fossil fuels.
I have not read where all the auto makers said the combustion engine is dead by 2022. Automakers make predictions all the time that usually don't come true. So no they don't necessarily know what they're talking about.
