Palestinians throwing rocks and blowing up several people along with themselves are angels in heaven playing harps in comparison. So do the Palestinians also have an army -- the regular PA forces, plus all the irregulars: Hamas, PIJ, Al Aqsa, etc. If they haven't armed themselves beyond C4 and Katyushas it's not for lack of trying. However, the point under discussion was not if the people engaged in armed struggle or not -- it was if they became so overwhelmed by hatred that they became more fixated on hurting their oppressors than even gaining their own autonomy. The Kurds have not done so. Whatever their tactics, their is a certain air of political realism about their main groups that has caused them to go for the best deal they could get -- limited autonomy in the no-fly zone -- rather than spend themselves getting back at the Iraqis or the Turks or immolating themselves in the name of "justice". There never was any agreement for a separate territory for Kurds. So the territory where they are concentrated can hardly be called "occupied". However, such an agreement granting them autonomy was signed in the case of Palestinian territories (which were subsequently occupied). Nor was there any agreement about a separate territory for the Palestinians until 1993, and it came with several conditions, #1 of which was, Renounce Terrorism. If Arafat thinks a man must be soft in the head to ever honor his given word, he's now being shown reasons he can understand. would be very interested to see if anyone can say that Palestinians enjoy similar political rights in Israel. The Palestinians in the territories, no. The Israeli citizens of Israel, yes. There are Arab MKs, there have been Arab cabinet members, Arabs serve in the army (though only the Druze are drafted, Bedouin often volunteer). There is a three-star Druze general in the IDF.
