and "modeling" is close, but not quite the same.

Are you suggesting that modeling is not enough and I "should" hector others, as well? I do try to enlighten when the opportunity presents itself, but I find too much negativity and oppressiveness in "blaming" and the scheme it rode in on.

What you might have missed was that when I posted to Karen about how something could be in your self interest to do something in a particular situation even if it is not in general in your self interest she replied that her idea of self interest is to find the values that generally support your self interest and then stick to those values even when in particular cases they do not support your self interest.
