NEW YORK, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Massachusetts' top securities regulator, who is probing alleged analyst conflicts of interest at Credit Suisse First Boston, said on Tuesday he wants a complete separation of Wall Street research from banking.

"The breadth of the fraud that appears to be in the industry requires something more than self-policing," the regulator, Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin, said in an interview with Reuters.
