It is a matter of indifference. The only point is that if witches existed in the manner people assumed, there was reason to regard them as threatening. Nowadays, we look upon them as harmless "wiccans", dancing around naked, or in loose robes, at the full moon, a little dotty, perhaps, but harmless. Even so, they claim to have powers, and some of them, like the casting of love spells, could indeed be highly disruptive if truly effective........
