It was a "liberal" Jewish area that was founded on communitarian values about 100 years ago. One fellow there was talking about a tense moment for his grandmother, when she was processed through Ellis Island on her way to join the community. The last question that the INS bureaucrat asked her was: "Would you willfully engage in the overthrow of the U.S. Government by revolution or sedition?"
