Happy birthday! Seriously.

I'm not in any way religious but I know of no better way to legitimize the power of the State than through religion. If people are not God-fearing, then what are they?

Unfortunately, every institution, including the Church, itself, has been desecrated and despoiled so that, today, the youth have nothing to look to or look up to. Indeed, young people in the US must be so confused and disillusioned to note that, while no religious icons or expressions are tolerated in any State-run institution, the President, himself, seems to prefer nothing more than to "inspire" the American people by invoking the agency of God and from the environment of a house of worship.

Indeed, it's hard not to be cynical.
