Russia Gaining Pace in Gold Production Race

"This year could see Russia moving into fifth position, ahead of China (173 tons last year), and challenging Indonesia (183 tons).

Gokhran is estimating aggregate gold output this year, including mined, byproduct and scrap processed gold at 180 tons.

This is a gain of almost 17% over last year; Gokhran has also lifted its projection for this year by five tons over earlier estimates.
