Hi Snow, thanks for your input - did not know about demand. But if it's (spot) demand, why should miners suffers the same way? Looks pretty much like sustained profit taking to me.

Seen the US dollar too, but just did not make sense, especially in view of different turning points (July vs 2 3 weeks ago). The latest entries at

are into this subject. Diagonally read, one explanation could be lemmings crowding into the tech buys of their lives (QCOM here we come!). But, if they're buying, it sure does not look like they're in NAZ <:RegZ

Hmmm, good point Snowshoe. Now that Sudden Wealth Syndrome has gone, I suppose the number of people ordering solid gold doorknobs on their new houses, gold chains, gold bumpers on their Lexus and gold this that and the other, has dropped precipitously.

Maybe disposable wealth previously going to gold is being held in reserve in case some groceries and rent are needed.

Anyone bought any gold doorknobs or Aztec artifacts lately?

Maybe gold buying is more usually a display of wealth than a defence against poverty. Therefore, contrary to the woebetide-us crowd who expect flight to gold, there is actually flight from gold as people cash in their grandmother's fillings, wedding ring and doorknobs.
