Inner Strength Hulkster,

Got some neat pics from our SF Bay trip this year. We cruised down the Sacramento river on into SF Bay. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather:

....so, I, being the brave skipper I am, decided to cruise under and straight out from the Golden Gate:

...and for those who always wondered, the bottom of the Golden gate:

After 1 1/2 hours of cruising 250 degrees from the Gate, we reached our destination. The Farralon Islands.

Nice bunch of rocks.........<g>

We were roughing it cruising back to the Gate............lets see.....250-180=70.....yup, head er 70 degrees:

Then we anchored next to Alcatraz to watch the Blue Angels practice for the big weekend show. It was Fleet Week (even though SF no longer has a fleet)they still put the show on every year at this time:

This was all on Friday. Friday night we cruised down to the South Bay and stayed at the Oyster Point Yacht Club. Nice Folks! We had a great time.....what I remember of it. <g>

Then Saturday, back up to Alcatraz to see the parade of ships and the entire airshow. They wouldn't let us as close to the ships as they used to.

Anchored at Alcatraz on Saturday, I noticed fog reaching the Golden Gate. Good thing we went out to the Farralons on Friday. Then I saw it was rolling into the bay. Geez, with all these boats out here without radar, this could be one big clusterfluck gettin out of here.

Sure enough, the fog started reaching us and the Blue Angels team leader came by all by himself for a check on visibilty.

It wasn't long, before the San Francisco shoreline in that picture was no longer visible. OK....time to get out of there. What a mess it was......a little hairy, maneuvering around all those boats, who by now, were also leaving. We heard on the marine radio of several collisions. Yikes!!

But not Capt. Crash!! We made it back unscathed.......except for the fuel bill. Sheesh!

:o)
