Gottfried,
There is a group of former bulls who now buy into the japan/deflation/iraq scenario as destroying this economy. Also there is a lack of faith in Bush on the economic side. Many of the same folks who thought Bush's monday speech to be excellent would laugh at a similar one on the economy. And greenspan has few admirers anymore. Admin plan is to neutralize iraq issue 1st q next year and let greenspan deal with economy now. Thats why a certain rate cut by 11/6 imo. If all fails to jolt the stock market which is now becoming a cause of malaise on main st., Bush team will address economy early next year after iraq settled. I can see the bears point here. We are on thin ice. Ken Fisher points out that the market never goes down in the year before pres election and we know that market never goes down 4 years in a row--except in a depression and thats what Ralphie apparently is now betting on. NAZ up 1 point. mike
