Hey, I'm retired too!........Since Dec 31, 1991. Ask me if I miss the business world? Yea, right! Does it occur to anyone that the business world is screwing us again?. First, they built up their stock prices through various means, selling while we were buying.....at the same time raping us with their options and inflated salaries.

Now they're sticking it to us again.......while the consumers have been doing their part to keep the economy going, businesses are cutting way back on capex, creating almost a free-fall in stock prices. If we can go out on a limb a little bit, why can't they? A pox on the business world!

"While there are valid considerations for extended trading, incomes ... under current market conditions have not been commensurate to cover the incremental costs of operations in the afternoon in spite of measures taken to reduce and alleviate costs," the exchange said in a statement Thursday.

The exchange also cited "the bearish outlook in global markets," as a reason for the suspension.

Beginning October 15, trading will evert to its old schedule with trading hours between 9:00 am and 12:10 pm (0100 GMT-0410 GMT), the exchange said.

The exchange said it would continue to look for ways of lowering trading costs in the afternoon but did not say if it was likely to resume afternoon trading.

The Philippines market has been in a slump in recent weeks, hitting an 11-month low on Tuesday.
