Brutal. But does the index account for dividends paid?
Have never followed utilities. Saw a blurb somewhere
that Bill Gates was buying some Avista (that one
creeps into the news around here...) but there
isn't any economic growth over there and I don't
know why people buy these things--it does yield a
little bit better than a treasury.

Well, let's mark down AVA for $10, and it traded as
low as $9 1/2 today. About every year or so I skim
through my old posts, I'll come across this next
fall and see how AVA did. You know, if I did get into
utilities, then personal fuel cell generators would
take off or something, and the company that drops off
your propane would be the winners. Well, that isn't
so far removed from Avista. Ha.
