My daughter is only 11 now and has just started chatting with her friends from school on the computer. She has good friends and shows no signs of any trouble. But when she gets older if she shows any signs that she might be hanging with questionable people or doing questionable things I would not hesitate to invade her privacy. Including listening in on the phone and using computer spyware. But there would have to be evidence that something was really wrong first, and I really doubt there ever will be with her. This is just hypothetical.
