These are ALL GONE. For the 5 or so remaining software vendors will revenue and growth rates ever recover to 90s levels... I say its a distinct possibility, in fact likely.

Good point. This has happened before. Mainframes imploded but IBM was left at the center (although much diminished). Unix workstations imploded and Sun actually benefited as other vendors dropped out of contention. However the long term trend for contraction remains there, if the market is inherently weak. Are web storefronts the way of the future? or perhaps companies will be happy to let web-middlemen sell for them in which case all of those companies are as good as gone, once the imploding process gets to them....
