Ted, <Hamas is a full fledged organization that operates primarily within the confines of Palestine and has significant ties to the Palestinian community.>

And how does that disprove the fact that Hamas is a terrorist organization whose agenda is the destruction of Israel?

Ten, then by that definition, the state of Israel is a terrorist organization. To my knowledge, Hamas's stated purpose is the creation of an independent Palestinian state. If they aim to destroy Israel, I don't think suicide bombings are terribly effective.

Besides, Hamas are revolutionaries.......and like most revolutionaries, they are fighting for their freedom. Al Qaeda are something more.......fundamentalist ideologues who want a pure religious gov't that imposes the discipline of religion over everyone.

And how does that make Hamas a trustworthy party to negotiate with? "If we give you guys Palestine, will you guys only preach a partial destruction of Israel?"

Who said any of them are trustworthy? You don't think after the last 12 months of this thread that Israel is trustworthy?

Listen, I don't see Hamas as the good guys, nor the heroes; and consequently, do not look forward to breaking bread with them. This is pure expediency................you can't have peace in Palestine without their agreement. I should think that's pretty obvious......so why fukk around, lets get them all around the table and talk.
