It's gone from about 7 to 4 in around a month. Quite a percentage move. It also has a gap in the mid 4s. Look for some "up and filling" for a few days, filling the gap, before another test of the lows which may or may not fail.

My guess is that the test will fail if the market is as weak I expect. New lows toward the end of October. Then we'll see.

But what do I know? I bought a little in the mid 6s because I don't think I actually know where the bottom is, but think EMC will survive and even thrive when this tech spending freeze is over. I'm sure plenty of other people think the same.

Whenever that is.

I don't think so, Joseph. At the end of 2Q2002, EMC still had 20+M shares left under the previous 50M share buyback authorization and the new 250M share buyback authorization only kicks into gear after they release earnings on 10/17/2002.
