I bought my last car by faxing the dealerships' fleet sales manager & asking for him to fax back a bid on the car I wanted (specs were attached). Sent to 10 dealership and got 6 bids back and took one, just $100 over invoice. Then I just walked in with my credit union loan paper & went downstairs past the sales staff infection, signed some papers & drove off. I also applied over $6300 in rebates & a coupon I got in the mail towards the $27k minivan. It was like buying a car from a dot com! Next time I will look at Costco though, plus soliciting bids via the Internet (like Carpoint.com).
