Joe, I don't know enough about Korean politics to make a judgement here. But it does seem like relations between the two Koreas are at its warmest level in decades. I get the sense of a "feel good" attitude toward North-South relations, especially in the press and in all of the blue-n-white flag waving. But some have grumbled that South Korean President Kim Dae Jung is being a little too nice to the North. We'll see.

As I said before, I think the carrot-n-stick routine going in Korea is a good thing. What better wielder of the stick than those "rude, arrogant American buckaroos"? <G>
