You might be right about the inevitable arms race in Asia --China as 400 missiles aimed at Taiwan as I right this, and the military build-up has already begun. I am sure that China will find it necessary at some point to invade Taiwan -- to defend itself from immanent attack of course. By that point, Japan will be committed to its own nuclear arsenal. Of course we already have the arms race between India and Pakistan -- neither can be disarmed except by finding out who is better at destroying the other. War and the threat of war will become the basis for settling all disputes.
