The founding fathers had to fashion a working government from theory, and from one failed experiment, the Articles of Confederation. It is easier today to understand the perils of unilateral unchecked power since we can compare it to the sucessful checks and balances setup by the founders. Even so the nation has not had an easy time of it.

The world today is as approachable as the country was 200 years ago. The same types of decisions and outcomes are played out internationally as were explored in our nation's founding. So far, Junior and his cronies for a new American Century are missing the essential lessons of the past 200 years in an attempt not to create world order, but a world wide king of the hill game with planet wide repurcussions. The failure of this approach is as obvious as the failure of the 2bit oligarchies which were the economic and political equals of the American colonies at the same time. They, like Junior, chose the route of political ruthlessness, religious zealism, economic opportunism, and failure.
