My wife's grandparents grew up in Keatsville, in rural Missouri. They were landowner's, but were forced to sell during the Depression, and resettle in Kansas City. Anyway, her grandmother taught her the country way of doing certain things, like frying up porkchops, making pan gravy, and whipping potatoes so light that the gravy is needed to keep them from floating away.......

I am listening to a CD of "Songs in the Key of Life" that I recently bought. I had forgotten quite how beautiful it is. Just the first track, and I am verklempt.....talk amongst yourselves.....suggested topic: "The joy of the brisket, from corned beef to pastrami".......
