One of the best. As a songwriter, he is up there with Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon. As a performer, he is one of the best honed talents I have ever heard. Once, on PBS, I watched a series on black music that had an episode featuring him. He performed alone, with only a piano. It was like all of the orchestration and production were superfluous, he could just carry everything alone........
